Common questions and concerns…
Re-key vs. Replace? No, you don’t need to replace your locks in order to ‘change’ them to a new key. Re-keying is the most time efficient and economical way to go when moving into a new home, evicting a room-mate or tenant, or tying up ‘loose ends’ when you find that the contractor renovating your house made ten copies for his crew!
Locked out of house? Yes, we really will ask some simple questions when you call and ask us to give you access to a home. Also, be prepared to provide some form of photo ID and/or documentation tying you to the property when we arrive on site. No exceptions!
Keys Copied? If you simply need a duplicate key, we will be happy to drive to you and cut it for about 20X what the local key SHOP would charge you, but more than likely, you will not want to pay the mobile service premium and we will happily direct you to the closest reputable WALK-IN establishment. Thanks for thinking of us though!
Door Service? We DO NOT repair doors or re-hang doors or otherwise service doors or door frames in any capacity. If your door has a problem closing or opening, if the hinges are sprung or tearing out of the frame, or if your frame is split out, please, have a professional door repair contractor out to repair that problem before contacting South Side. A lock is no good on a door that’s in need of serious repair and to install a new lock on an old door that won’t close properly is to ‘put the cart before the horse’.
