Three Common Commercial Issues/Concerns:

Credit
South Side Lock & Key, at its discretion, will extend credit to any commercial customer meeting the terms stipulated in the Policies and Procedures section Typically, credit may be applied for at any time after the first three paid service requests in a given six month period. Until a credit account has been established, all commercial customers will be expected to provide payment upon completion.

Retail ‘Security Service’ Providers (or the like)
As addressed in the q&a page, South Side Lock & Key does not conduct business on behalf of anyone other than the end user: a resident, business owner or other LOCAL representative having a DIRECT relationship with a given property and its maintenance. In other words, we will not enter into any service contract in which a third party is responsible for scheduling and/or payment.

Condition/Security of Property (Right of ‘Refusal’)
Commercial security and liability being what they are in relation to the locksmith industry, South Side Lock & Key holds as its right the option to refuse any service request for a given property or individual point of access within that property if it is determined by our tech that either:

A.)The property or opening is in such a state of neglect or disrepair that South Side’s services would have minimal effect on the overall security of that property or access point. OR

B.)The management of a particular property is not willing to follow existing building/fire code or other common-sense guidelines provided by the tech in regards to proper operation or management of existing/new doors, hardware, keys, etc. Put simply, we will not ‘just do what you want us to do’ if it conflicts with common practices, compromises the integrity of a hardware/key system, violates code, won’t work properly due to door/frame condition or otherwise puts South Side Lock & Key at risk. Two good rules to remember:

  • A great lock on a bad door is no lock at all.
  • The ideal number of employees carrying a ‘master’ key is ZERO. (Only the boss gets that privilege!)
