Emergency Lock-Outs... Policies and Procedures

Emergency service most often involves a ‘lockout’ of some sort, whether it be an individual who has locked a key in a residence or vehicle, or a business owner whose employee locked the ‘wrong’ door upon closing up the night before. Be it through accident, negligence or outright malfunction of the lock itself, South Side Lock & Key has heard of and dealt with just about every ‘emergency’ situation possible. We will be happy to assist anyone in such an emergency, typically WITHIN AN HOUR OF THE LAST CALL RECEIVED.

As a South Side customer scheduling emergency service you are entitled to the following:

  • Service within an hour of the last confirmation call OR priority position on the day’s service schedule(you move to ‘next in line’)
  • Notification of the guaranteed emergency fee structure for lockouts---min. and max. pricing per type

Additionally, South Side requires the following from any ‘emergency’ customer:

  • Payment must be made via cash or credit card.
  • Customer must present valid ID tying them to the property in question, whether home or business, or vehicle keys must be in plain sight, before a tech will provide entry.
  • Customer must answer a phone call, made in advance of the tech’s arrival, to verify that the service is still required. If that call goes unanswered, the tech will consider the appointment void and the service request for the given property will be ‘reset’ in time to the point at which the customer calls back.
  • Customer must agree that such final confirmation constitutes a verbal ‘contract to pay’ for services proposed and a min. charge will be required if service is cancelled or job is otherwise performed by another contractor or individual prior to South Side’s arrival on site.
